Preparing for high winds. 2004 Hurricane Season

I pounded 5' long metal rails (bed frame rails) in to the ground, and cranked down the trailer with 5000 lb. straps.

Same deal on the back of trailer, coupled with the stabilizers down. It seemed to work pretty well, as we had 60+ mph. winds. I watched it from the window of my house, and it didn't budge. Of course the straps won't prevent a tree or my house from falling on the trailer.

This is Hurricane Jeanne, Sept. 25, 2004 Just one of four hurricanes that threatened us that year. Cool picture. Also taken from the Airstream Globetrotter orbiting the earth.
