Trip to Sunshine Skyway South Fishing Pier

Yep, I have been out here many times, but always thoroughly enjoy the stay. We attempted to hit Hillsborough River State park on the way down, but they were booked solid. We also called Ft. Desoto, but they too were booked. I didn't take too many pictures of the bridge this time, as I had a lovely "maiden" with me for the trip. I suppose in a way you can call it a maiden voyage. It was a brisk weekend here in Florida, with temperature highs in the 60's, and lows in the 40's. We basically boondocked from Friday afternoon through Sunday. Saturday night a cold front pushed through and winds kicked up to over 30mph. I put down the stabilizers, and still had the trailer hooked to the Burb, so everything sat nice and firm. A fun weekend!

Relaxing on a sunny afternoon. Aside from taking long walks off a short pier, there isn't much to do on the bridge aside from fish and enjoy nature. We watched a movie on my laptop computer, ate, listened to music, shared some wine (no whining was allowed), and just enjoyed the solitude. Notice the new seat cushions we picked up at Pier 1 Imports clearance center. They worked out well for $50!!!
A better view of the cushions and the cheapo folding tables I picked up at Wally World. The bases are matching in color to the interior aluminum, and they fold up and are very light. Susan got snagged with her eyes closed.
