Updating of the Rock Guard.

No, I'm not talking about bouncers at a Rolling Stones concert! The original plastic on the rock guard was really nasty looking, and all the vertical and horizontal supports were hanging on by a thread, so I took it all apart and rebuilt it and replaced the plastic with stuff I bought at Lowe's. Total cost was around $45 for materials, and the labor and time it took was of course priceless!

The original rock guard.

After reassembly and the installation of the new plastic. It looks like a simple job, but cutting the plastic curves with a special knife was a real job. I used my Roto Zip tool to assist in smoothing out the rough edges. This was way more work than I anticipated. Sorry I didn't document more of the process. I guess you will just have to figure it out on your own! Isn't there a striking resemblance of my rock guard to my Suburban? It certainly was not planned that way. I suppose it is just Karma, or in this case, Truckma.

It sure does make it look more modern... and less ratty.

Sweeeeeeeeet!
