UNIVOLT REPLACEMENT... Hummmm!!! (A joke only an Airstreamer would understand)

This is the original Univolt. It would hum, but couldn't keep a tune... or a charge... so I scrapped it and replaced it with an Intellipower 45 amp charger with "Charge Wizard." Pretty cool, and very easy to install... except for the location.

This is the fuse panel I pulled off the Univolt to incorporate with the new charging unit.

This is the Intellipower. I mounted it to a board, and used the original metal plate from the Univolt to hold the fuse panel, and wired it to the IP.

Front view of the new setup.

Looks a bit like an Airstream or a Quonset hut, doesn't it? I put this aluminum sheet over it to protect it from water, as it is mounted under the front corner of the bathtub, and the old unit had signs of rust and moisture on it. Besides, I think it looks rather cool.

I had to wire in a new plug, and then very carefully attach all the wires back where they came off of. There was very little space, or length of wire to work with. Everything worked perfectly the first try! How often does that happen! The only caveat with this installation, is that if the main fuse blows on the IP, I have to unscrew that outlet, and pull the IP out a bit and try to get my hand in there to change the fuse. There was no other way to set it up, and the access to the area is very tight. I just hope that when it goes, it will be during the day and not raining, since it has to be accessed from the outside hatch. For a contortionist, it would be no problem!
